A controllable beyblade won after it was dead!

A Japanese toy maker, Takara Tomy made "Beyblades". The beginning of the sales were so-so. And so, they decided to issue a manga and an anime. And then, the toy is in a megahit!

Beigoma

Bayblades is a contemporary version of "Beigoma". Beigoma is spun by wrapping a thin cord around it, then throwing it while releasing the cord to spin it onto a surface such as matting spread across the top of a barrel. The thrower aims it at another beigoma that is already spinning to knock it out of the playing area. The loser is the player whose top either stops spinning first or is knocked outside the area. Bayblades are similar to Beigoma.

You can not control Beigoma after you throw but you actually can control Bayblades. A controllable Bayblades has a tiny motor inside. If you press the buttons, the Bayblades moves. A picture is worth a thousand words. It is a lot of fun!

Hello Kitty

I think people know about "Hello Kitty" already because some american celebs loves "Hello Kitty" like Lady Gaga.

Hello Kitty collaborated with KISS (US hard rock band). It is a unique challenge of Hello Kitty that is synonymous with the presence of the Japanese "Kawaii (Cute)". Sanrio is a Japanese company that designs, licenses and produces products focusing on the kawaii segment of Japanese popular culture. Their products include stationery, school supplies, gifts and accessories that are sold worldwide and at specialty brand retail stores in Japan. Sanrio made Hello Kitty in 1974.

Sanrio consents to use Hello Kitty for the apparel products suppliers from the few years ago. Sanrio get a royalty revenue from them. Alliance products are greatly increased. The suppliers were several hundred companies about five years ago, but now more than 2,000 now. Especially, the sales grew in North American market in 2011. Because a major distribution store, Wal-Mart started to sell Hello Kitty's apparel products. The collaboration with Kiss helped a lot for the sales in US. Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey and Avril Lavigne who is a big celebrity loves Hello Kitty. It is emerging in the markets of Latin America now. Sanrio is trying to make a theme park in Zhejiang, China by licensing to local companies in 2014.

Sylvanian Families

Sylvanian Families (森のゆかいな仲間たち　シルバニアファミリー) were created and released in Japan by Epoch in 1985, which uses the concept of dollhouses and animal creatures. When I was a kid, my sister loved this toy because the quality is very high.

The dolls skin is made by like suede so it is so smooth and very tender. I think you would like to rub the dolls and keep it in your hand. The furniture in the dollhouse is made with attention to detail. For example, if you open the cabinet under the faucet, you can see the pipes. 

These kind of things win the hearts and minds of the girls. You would get all bogged down in the world of Sylvanian Families. It is quite a popular toy in Russia now. In Canada and the USA, it lost the rights to the name Sylvanian Families. So Tomy who had been distributing the toys worldwide reintroduced the line under the new name "Calico Critters" in 1993.

Tamiya R/C Car

Tamiya is a Japanese manufacturer of plastic model kits, redio controlled cars, battery- and solar-powered educational models, sailboat models, acrylic and enamel model paints, and various modeling tools and supplies. 

The company was founded by Yoshio Tamiya in Shizuoka, Japan in 1946. Tamiya's product always catch people's hearts, especially kids. "Coro Coro Comic" is a comic magazine for kids. From 1983 to 1989, there was a radio control car story, "Radi Con Boy" in Coro Coro Comic. We loved "Radi Con Boy". Everybody wanted to have a RC Car because we were inspiered to have one by "Radi Con Boy". 

The main RC car in Radi Con Boy was "the Honet". Tamiya made that. When I read the comic, I wanted and wanted "the Honet" and do the same things in the comic book. 

I think I got it on my 10th birthday. I assembled it by myself. It was so much fan! When I tried to make it run in a park, I was so happy. It worked and it was so fast! I made a tiny bump and make it run over the bump. "The Honet" has the oil rear suspensions. The roll stability was so good. "The Honet" is the improved version of "The Glass Hopper".
